Seismic and infrasound records indicate durations ranging from one (1) to fifty-six (56) minutes (08 April 2025), accompanied by a minimum plume height of 600 meters and a maximum height of 5,000 meters (15 March 2026) above the summit crater, drifting generally westward and eastward. Pyroclastic density currents or PDCs, hazardous mixtures of hot volcanic gas, ash and fragmented rock, descended the south-southeastern sides of the edifice approaching 2 to 3.4 kilometers in Masulog, La Castellana (09 December 2024). Ash was also dispersed over an extensive area of the central Negros Island Region or NIR, with the heaviest ashfall experienced in the Municipality of La Castellana and Pontevedra, Negros Occidental, on 26 February 2026. Incandescent ballistic fragments were launched as high as 1.5 kilometers from the summit crater, and on 26 February & 15 March 2026, ignited up to two (2) patches of forest fires on the upper southern and southeastern margins of the forest canopy on the volcano slopes. | |

| Kanlaon | 2017 Dec 9, 20 | 31 | crater | ash explosion;phreatic | | Phreatic | Recorded as an explosion-type earthquake that lasted approximately ten (10) minutes. Accompanied by rumbling sound heard as far away as La Castellana, Negros Occidental. This ashfall was experienced in Sitio Guintubdan, Brgy. Ara-al, La Carlota City, Brgy. Sag-ang La Castellana and Brgy. Ilihan, Bago City, Negros Occidental. Degassing at the summit was observed to have began at 06:34 AM and was detectable as continuous low-energy tremor during periods when summit is not visible. | |
